The Center for Constitutional Studies (CCS) at UVU is seeking an experienced Social Media Specialist responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and generating content for the Center’s various social media accounts, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

The role involves supporting the Center’s mission of promoting the instruction, study, and research of constitutionalism through engaging and informative social media content. The Social Media Specialist reports to the CCS Director of Engagement.

The Center for Constitutional Studies is an academic institute focused on fostering understanding of U.S. federal and state constitutions through scholarship, initiatives, and events such as conferences, symposia, and lectures featuring prominent scholars, judges, attorneys, and government officials. The Center also leads the Civic Thought & Leadership Initiative, facilitating nonpartisan political discussions, providing civic education, and training K-12 educators.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with CCS faculty and staff to research constitutional and civic law, issues, history, etc., and develop engaging social media content.
• Create social media content to inform CCS account followers of events, achievements, and other relevant updates.
• Post content to CCS social media accounts.
• Perform other development-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current UVU student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Able to commit to a work schedule of at least 15 to 25 hours per week.
• Experience in generating social media content.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in producing professional social media content across multiple platforms.
• Knowledge of and interest in basic concepts related to constitutional and/or American government, law, history, or politics.

• Familiarity with all social media platforms.

Skills:

• Proficiency in generating high-quality social media content.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in graphic design software (preferred skills in Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Photoshop).

Abilities:

• Ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse populations.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
