We are seeking a driven and tech-savvy Social Media Manager to join Mango Languages. This role requires expertise in social media, video production, PR, and promotional events, coupled with outstanding communication skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building our brand, promoting our digital presence, embracing language, and fostering cultural understanding. The candidate will help us build the voice of our brand, playing a pivotal role in growing our community, managing all social media channels, and bringing our core purpose of enriching lives with language and culture to life.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and publish engaging social media content that aligns with our marketing strategy, supports brand communication goals, and enhances brand visibility.
  • Collaborate with our in-house creative team, video production team, and freelance resources to develop compelling content (photo, video, graphics) that adheres to brand guidelines.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of social channels, including responding to comments and inquiries in the Mango brand voice, and actively participating in relevant language-learning conversations.
  • Coordinate with the video production team to maintain consistency across all channels, particularly YouTube.
  • Proactively manage customer reviews, engaging with feedback and questions on a daily basis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for timely resolution.
  • Assist in organizing PR outreach initiatives and managing gifting/coupon programs.
  • Collaborate with the Content Marketing Lead to track and analyze metrics, implementing data-driven adjustments to social media strategies.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proficiency with all major social media platforms, including TikTok, and familiarity with emerging trends in social media marketing.
  • Experience with on-camera appearances and basic video production skills.
  • Previous experience working in an agency setting, demonstrating the ability to handle diverse client needs and priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong background in both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) marketing.
  • Familiarity with project management software, enabling effective coordination and organization of tasks and projects.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

  • This position is entirely remote; however, preference will be given to candidates located in the Metro Detroit area.
  • Knowledge of another language, passion for language learning, a background in languages or other cultures.
