We are looking for a strategic storyteller with excellent skills to create engaging and compelling content for campaigns, products, and events for company-branded Social channels intended to serve all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at every step of their journey.

The Social Media Manager will create and manage strategy for Deseret Book’s branded social media channels, including YouTube monetization. You will collaborate with designers, marketing managers, videographers, and social media specialists to create compelling content to foster engagement in our campaigns and promotions, leading to sales of products and events. The Social Media Manager will also create and manage our influencer and affiliate program.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities

  • 50% Social Media Strategy Develop and execute strategy for company-branded social channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube) based on marketing campaigns, products, cultural celebrations, promotions, and events both through paid and organic campaigns. Included in the strategy should plans for effective YouTube monetization.
  • 30% Content Creation Understand the customer segments to create engaging social media content to drive engagement and sales.
  • 10% Manage Influencer & Affiliate Program Develop and execute effective influencer and affiliate programs to drive engagement and sales of products on company website
  • 10% Team Management Manage Social Media Specialist and Marketing Coordinator to execute Social Media strategies.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience with social media strategy in a marketing environment and a BS/BA in communications, marketing, or a related field, specializing in product marketing.
  • Portfolio with demonstrated ability to adapt to brand voice, connect with distinct audiences, and support brand mission and vision.
  • Excellent storytelling, copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience in utilizing content management systems, keyword research tools, and social listening tools (Meta Business Suite, etc.)
  • Proven results in driving social media platform growth and engagement with both paid and organic campaigns
  • Great team player who works well in a collaborative environment.
  • Detail-oriented: Ability to analyze results, prioritize work, and organize time.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Self-motivated and a great self-manager.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
