USA Lacrosse is looking for a temporary team member to help us with social media marketing from mid-December until early to mid-April.

We are looking for a creative, data-driven individual to keep our social media platforms moving forward while our team member is on leave.

This individual will continue to maintain and grow USA Lacrosse’s presence and engagement on our social media platforms.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate storyteller, strategic thinker, and highly collaborative individual who has a proven track record of getting to know an organization quickly so they can manage and grow social media channels using innovative approaches to storytelling.

This individual is a self-starter who excels at social media strategy, planning, and development of a personality across social channels while inspiring and educating USA Lacrosse’s audiences with compelling content and creative experiences.

The successful candidate will have a solid background in social media strategy development, content creation management, editorial writing, community management, and analysis.

A Typical Day Looks Like…

  • Understands USA Lacrosse’s core audiences and how to leverage social media to influence their engagement and drive growth.
  • Evolves and executes the social media strategy for USA Lacrosse, working in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team. This includes developing plans, managing our on-going social media calendar, and leading content planning and brainstorming with internal departments across the organization to support and achieve business objectives.
  • Serves as the SME by providing analysis of campaign performances using analytics and data insights to drive the most impactful opportunities in content ideation and decisions.
  • Stays up to date on current industry trends and best practices and recommends new and innovative ways to connect with our audiences through social media, as well as maintains an omni-channel approach to planning.
  • Works in partnership with our creative and editorial teams and all the organization’s content requesters to develop best-in-class social content for both organic and paid social media distribution. This includes ensuring all content aligns with USA Lacrosse’s social media strategy, campaign goals, and brand standards, including tone/voice and overall social best practices.
  • Manages and monitors all daily social communication, brand sentiment, and response efforts across all social channels. This includes timely responses to comments and inquiries on each channel.
  • Monitors performance of all social media activity, campaigns, and brand sentiment across channels. This includes regularly analyzing, reporting on, and providing insights on performance to ensure we have a well thought out approach and are effectively executing campaigns for the best ROI.

Is This You…

  • 3 to 5 years in social media marketing experience with knowledge of/exposure to social media strategy development, campaign management, calendar planning, content collaborations, community management, performance assessment, and paid media.
  • Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for the power of social media and content marketing with a keen eye towards innovation, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to come into an organization and quickly get acclimated to what they are doing so you can hit the ground running.
  • Proven experience in developing social marketing strategies that are native to individual channels, authentic to the brand, and demonstrate tangible return on investment (ROI). This includes experience managing paid social media campaigns.
  • Strong planning skills with the ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate high impact social campaigns and initiatives. This includes implementing tactics and campaigns to drive business goals, expand and grow reach, and engage an audience.
  • Detailed knowledge and expertise with all social platforms, including ability to be in contact with all major platforms. Experience working with Hootsuite or a similar program necessary for success in the role.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Proven experience implementing promotions via social channels and knowledge of legal requirements to ensure compliance with all promotional executions.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and use social data to affect change and determine and report on ROI.
  • Working knowledge of the latest social media technologies and best practices, such as new tools, algorithm changes, promotional rules and restrictions, platform enhancements, etc. This includes desire to continue to learn by participating in self-led professional development to stay current on trends in the industry.
  • Excellent communication, including verbal, written, and interpersonal. This includes the ability to collaborate, manage projects, and build relationships to establish trust and confidence.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, follow up/through skills, and the ability to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic, cross-functional team working toward a common goal.
  • Ability to be flexible with your work schedule, including the ability to work nights and weekends based on event needs. This may include overnight and weekend travel for events.
  • Willingness to learn about the sport of lacrosse and appreciate the need to develop, grow, and fuel the growth of the sport with diversity, equity, and inclusion in mind.
  • Ability to align with USA Lacrosse’s Mission, Vision, and Values and Strategic Plan to support our initiatives and organizational goals.
