 As Social Media Manager you will work closely with our Creative Director to create a best-in-class social media strategy, while also posting daily across all relevant social platforms.

You will amplify the Outerknown brand in an authentic way that builds stronger relationships with our existing community while capturing the attention of new customers.

You are someone who gets excited about social media trends, analyzes engagement data, and is planful with every step to develop the most engaging daily posts, but most importantly wants to celebrate the stories that make Outerknown who we are.

You are a strong individual contributor who can act as a team of one, working collaboratively with cross-functional partners. You can see an idea from concept to creation to execution all while taking in feedback from key stakeholders.

This role is significant to our organization, and we are upping our game in the social media space and know this key contributor will represent the best of the Outerknown brand, products, people, and mission, through these platforms.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the Creative Director, you will be responsible for all social media planning, creation, and execution.
  • Create and manage the social media calendar in line with the Brand Calendar. This includes, but is not limited to, sharing your weekly visual plan for daily posts in relevant cross-functional meetings each week.
  • Use the brand tools to reflect the brand’s voice, heart, and soul of the Outerknown social presence engaging with the customer population daily while developing long-lasting relationships with them.
  • Effectively utilize internal resources including in house creative team to deliver creative from initial ideas through completion.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPI’s) and key results areas (KRA’s) with the Creative Director for social media campaigns, such as targets for engagement and measuring the performance of each campaign against the KPI’s. Reports out KPIs on a monthly cadence.
  • Drive growth in customer acquisition, brand awareness, and engagement on our selected social platforms, to be determined and prioritized with Creative Director.
  • Identify and develop the appropriate social media assets for each platform. Ensuring there is alignment with all other Outerknown owned channels in collaboration with the creative and marketing teams.
  • When additional collaboration is needed, you are responsible for providing clear briefs to your coworkers for assistance in development of assets. Briefing the creative team with enough lead time to accommodate business critical needs taking into consideration competing priorities and projects.
  • Leverage all aspects of our existing and future brand stories. Examples would be hero product stories, sustainability & fair labor, behind-the-scenes, journey stories, and brand partnerships to create social media content, ensuring each of these areas is equally represented throughout the course of a month.
  • Values the importance of developing and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships, and consistently shares learnings from social media conversation (ex. DMs, comments, tags, UGC).
  • Exceptional daily communication is a must, both verbal as well as written, and collaborative partnership are essential in this role. This role must collaborate with copywriters, designers, developers, photographers, and customers.
  • This role involves daily cross-functional work, responding to DMs and community comments, day-to-day executional tasks of posting to relevant feeds, and briefing and collaborating with the creative team when needed.
  • This role is expected to publish at least one brand appropriate post a day.
  • Outerknown is eager to be a part of the real time conversation on social media. This role will work directly with Creative Director and CEO to determine the best way to engage in the cultural conversation.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of social media planning and social media content creation
  • Proven experience specific to Instagram and TikTok required, exposure to YouTube, LinkedIn, and other platforms are of great value.
  • Experience with social media marketing tools such as Instagram Analytics and tools like Sprout/Buffer/HootSuite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail, grammar, and tone. Able to craft engaging social media content that aligns with the brand and its messaging.
  • Experience in analyzing and reporting on campaign metrics.
  • Ability to work independently, think outside the box, while being resourceful and scrappy.
  • Must be a creative thinker who can drive projects from start to finish.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, able to prioritize and multi-task with grace and ease.
  • Familiar with all tools and possessing the computer skills that are required to analyze and effectively work on all social media platforms.
