As the Social Media Coordinator at Emerson Collective (EC), you will play a pivotal role in implementing and operationalizing our social media strategy. You will be responsible for executing daily content across our owned channels, maintaining the social media editorial calendar, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure the successful amplification of key moments, milestones, and announcements. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and communication skills.

This role reports to the Social Media Director and is based in Washington DC.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Under direction of the Social Media Director, execute the daily posting and amplification of content across owned social media channels, ensuring alignment with the overall social media strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Creative Studio (BCS) team and external agencies to operationalize the social media plan, ensuring timely delivery of graphics, videos, and other assets.
  • Maintain and update the social media editorial calendar, ensuring a consistent and strategic cadence of content.
  • Track deadlines for assets and coordinate with internal teams to meet content production timelines.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external partners to coordinate and amplify key moments, milestones, and announcements on social media.
  • Monitor and report on social media performance metrics, providing insights to improve and optimize content strategies.
  • Stay informed about social media trends and best practices to enhance EC’s online presence.

Qualifications, Skills, And Requirements

  • Two-four years’ experience in social media coordination or management, preferably in a mission-driven organization, campaign, government, or at a social impact agency.
  • Demonstrated passion for social media and its potential for impact.
  • Strong understanding of various social media platforms, analytics, content management and emerging trends.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively both internally and externally.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with influencer engagement and relationship building.
  • Alignment with EC’s mission and passion for social impact.

Location

Emerson Collective is a Bay Area-based organization with offices in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. This position is located in Washington DC and is onsite four days per week.
