The Social Media Coordinator provides clear, accurate, and responsive communications support and messaging across social media channels for Vermont Law and Graduate School (VLGS).

The Coordinator will create content that informs and engages several internal and external audiences, including prospective students, alumni, staff, faculty, current students, community members, and other stakeholders. The Coordinator position reports to and is evaluated by the Director of Communications and works in collaboration with colleagues throughout the campus.

Essential Functions and Principal Accountabilities:

  • Create, curate, and manage content for VLGS social media, including photography, video, graphics, etc., while implementing social media best practices and adhering to VLGS brand and style guidelines.
  • Work with the Communications Director to develop a content and engagement social media strategy.
  • Manage VLGS social media planning and content calendar.
  • Compile and analyze reports to track account growth, community engagement, and campaign success.
  • Attend VLGS events on campus in South Royalton and VLGS–Burlington to capture content for social media.
  • Provide additional support to the Marketing and Communications team as needed.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience and two or more years of experience in communications, social media, marketing, and/or graphic design.
  • Proven track record in creating social media content for a diverse range of audiences.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, manage time effectively, establish priorities, and communicate expectations to stakeholders.
  • Ability to carefully identify challenges and address issues cooperatively and in a collaborative fashion.
  • Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X; Sprout Social; Canva; Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency in a MS-Windows based environment.
  • Graphic design and video editing experience a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to new and emerging technology as established and communicated by the school.
