The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Social Media Strategist to join the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) team on-site in Renton, WA.

This person will be a member of the Communications Management Services (CMS), Communications Integration and Social Media team. This role collaborates closely with Communications professionals who support commercial activities across the enterprise, including BCA programs, commercial services programs and capabilities, and enterprise initiatives focused on supporting BCA programs.

In addition, the role collaborates with Communicators located in global markets aligned with this portfolio.

All Social Media Strategists actively participate on the Social Media Excellence Council to collectively advance Boeing’s enterprise-wide social media strategies and the company’s presence across all social media platforms.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Partners with BCA Communicators on assigned BCA programs and select BCA markets, to develop and execute social media plans and strategies that support their priorities, objectives and customer requirements
  • Identifies opportunities to engage with audience activity on social media platforms (e.g. likes, shares, comments, etc.) and/or participate in online conversations
  • Coordinates with Communications partners to contribute pre-approved responses or develop tailored responses as appropriate
  • Optimizes consistent voice and tone appropriate to key audiences for each social media platform to create a clear BCA persona tailored to the platform and complementary across all platforms
  • Plans, creates and publishes social media content, including photo, video and copy editing
  • Works across the function to obtain necessary approvals for prepared social media content
  • Uses Opal, Khoros and other collaboration tools to coordinate planned content across teams (including the global social media team, Global Media Relations, Employee Communications and CMS channels) to enable message alignment across paid, earned, shared and owned channels
  • Uses Khoros, Talkwalker and other measurement tools to evaluate and report on social media content performance, including presentations to leaders and peers
  • Collaborates with the Analytics, Insights and Tools team, as well as other social media strategists, to understand and continuously evaluate social media performance relative to BCA’s objectives in order to optimize social media outcomes
  • Participates as a member of the Social Media Excellence Council to actively contribute to the development and application of enterprise-wide social media strategies, processes and policies
  • Leverages the Council to identify, share and implement best practices to drive continuous improvement in Boeing’s presence across all social media platforms

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Occasional travel (up to 10%) to other Boeing locations or events may be required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams
  • 5+ years of experience with general understanding of corporate communications strategy, tactics, channels
  • 5+ years of experience in communications planning and implementation
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic communications development
  • 5+ years of experience communicating to employees, customers, peers and multiple levels of leadership
  • 3+ years of proven, demonstrable, experience in leveraging one or more of the following platforms to achieve corporate objectives: Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), You Tube, LinkedIn, other
  • 3+ years of experience with broad and current knowledge of multiple social media planning and measurement tools, such as Khoros, Opal and Talkwalker
  • 3+ years of experience with audience identification
  • 3+ years of experience with analysis of social media data and analytics to aid decision-making
  • 3+ years of experience in content creation, including creating and editing copy, images and video
  • Experience delivering social media outcomes that align with business objectives

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Developing and executing process improvement initiatives
  • Influencing stakeholders across multiple organizations to define and drive common objectives

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years’ related work experience, 14 years’ related work experience, etc.).
