The Assistant Manager, Social Media will play a key role in enhancing the online presence of our brands and engaging our target audience across various social media platforms.

This position oversees the creation of engaging digital content, execution of monthly calendars, and regular measurement across Pure Fishing’s social media platforms.

The Assistant Manager, Social Media will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote brand stories and seasonal initiatives, driving engagement and brand loyalty.

This position is open for the right candidate to start right away. The primary focus for the role is on our freshwater fishing brands.

Essential Functions:

Content Creation and Curation:

  • Assist in the creation and curation of engaging and visually appealing content for various social media platforms, including text, images, videos, and graphics

Social Media Calendar Management:

  • Help develop and maintain a content calendar, ensuring content is diverse and aligns with marketing initiatives

Community Engagement:

  • Monitor social media channels and engage with our audience by responding to comments, messages, and mentions
  • Curate UGC for owned social media channels

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze key performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of social media campaigns
  • Prepare regular reports and provide insights to guide future strategies

Trend Analysis:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices
  • Recommend and implement innovative strategies to stay ahead of the competition

Collaborative Teamwork:

  • Work closely with the Social Media Manager and cross-functional teams to align social media efforts with overall marketing goals and campaigns
  • Assist in brainstorming and implementing creative ideas to increase brand visibility and engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including photographers, videographers, content creators, and influencers

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field
  • Proven experience in managing social media platforms for brands, either through internships or previous positions
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design and video editing tools or software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Canva, CapCut, InShot, etc.)
  • Previous experience using social media management and analytics tools is a plus
  • Desire to continually learn the latest platforms, technology tools and marketing solutions
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A proven ability to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Strong sense of accountability
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Creative mindset with a passion for staying updated on industry trends
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Knowledge of and passion for fishing and other outdoor activities; knowledge of wider pop culture and entertainment landscape is appreciated
  • Able to travel about 10% of the year
