About This Role

Looking for an opportunity for hands-on experience as in digital marketing? Then our Social Media and Email Marketing internship may be for you! This internship runs for 4 months and pays $12.50 per hour. The Social Media and Email Marketing Intern must be able to work up to 29 hours a week in a hybrid and flexible workplace.

The Social Media & Email Marketing Intern will execute digital marketing and communication strategies, under general supervision, across one or more of Launch That projects. This position follows established procedures and is a hybrid position.

Day-to-Day

  • Support Senior Marketing Strategist with planning and execution of communications initiatives, social media efforts and email campaigns.
  • Assist in writing marketing communications materials, including social media posts, emails, newsletters and more.
  • Assist in completing communications tasks related to social media and community engagement (responding to comments, creating and scheduling social posts, managing private Facebook groups, etc.)
  • Assist in completing tasks related to email marketing (writing marketing emails and newsletters, updating automated email programs, tracking performance, etc.)
  • Assist in completing public relations tasks related to outreach (collecting editorial calendars, creating distribution lists, drafting outreach templates, etc.) and review generation (logging and responding to reviews).
  • Assist in tracking and reporting on overall email and social campaign performance using multiple sources (Campaign Monitor, RivalIQ, Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Assist with identifying key trends and growth opportunities.
  • Share report findings with team members through email, Slack or face-to-face meetings.

  • Work is closely reviewed by peers or Director of Marketing upon completion.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Copywriting experience and/or superior written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and/or other social media platforms.
  • Must have experience managing an organization’s social media account.
  • Strong analytical and creative abilities: We’re looking to develop and implement fresh ideas backed by data.
  • Basic design skills & experience with Canva preferred.
  • Proficient in G Suite.
  • Proven ability to work well independently or in a group, is a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, error-free work.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • A desire to grow and take initiative to help others as team priorities shift.
  • Agility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Bonus Qualifications

  • 1 year of demonstrated experience in social media marketing and/or email marketing.
  • Pursuing additional education in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or another related field. This could be a Bachelor’s degree, online certificate courses, etc.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite, Social Sprout or another social scheduling tool.
  • Experience with MailChimp, Campaign Monitor or other email marketing software.
  • Strong Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel skills.
