Social Media Specialist

Carilion Clinic is looking for a social media specialist to take our channels to the next level. This is a hands-on role creating engaging content and implementing strategies that help us meet our goals, enhance our brand and celebrate our employees.
This is an in-person or hybrid role based in Roanoke, Va. Some work can be completed remotely, with some days on-site for meetings and events and to gather content.
Job Responsibilities/Requirements

- Manage the organic and paid aspects of our social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and X
- Manage calendars and daily social media activity and engagement, including monitoring and responding to comments
- Create original, creative, engaging and shareable content that is consistent with brand guidelines and edit and proof all social media copy for accuracy, clarity and grammar
- Grow followers and engagement for all channels
- Collaborate with team members to ensure social media strategies complement other marketing strategies and campaigns
- Analyze key metrics and adjust strategies as needed
- Knowledge and understanding of social media channels and their audiences and the ability to develop targeted messages to engage and grow them
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Meta Business Manager and SproutSocial
- Ability to meet deadlines for multiple customers at once and respond appropriately to time-sensitive issues
- Basic photo editing and social graphic design skills
- Photography and videography skills are a plus
What We Require
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or related discipline required.
Experience: Three years of related experience required. 1-3 years of experience with organic and paid social media.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Must possess excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills, including presentation skills. Demonstrated analytical thinking and interpersonal skills. Must work well in a team environment and have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to work on multiple tasks/projects while meeting deadlines and being flexible in an environment of changing priorities.
