The Social Media and Communications Specialist helps to amplify our corporate presence across social media platforms while ensuring seamless communications within our organization.

This individual will help oversee, publish, and analyze the company’s social media accounts to build a community of followers and enhance interactions. In addition, you will create and distribute employee communications and contribute to programs that actively engage internal and external audiences.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at creating and managing compelling content across various platforms.

This individual possesses an solid understanding of current social media trends and has the ability to plan and execute campaigns effectively. Their interpersonal skills enable them to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders, ensuring consistent messaging and corporate representation.

Functional Responsibility

  • Leads in a constructive manner by example; demonstrates and encourages a strong work ethic and fosters an environment of trust and respect
  • Develops and aligns individual goals with the department’s operational goals; ensures that decisions, actions, and priorities are aligned with the company’s vision, mission, and strategies
  • Researches best practices, stays abreast of industry trends, and maintains awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continually improve operations
  • Contributes to the preparation of the departmental budget and monitors spending
  • Provides immediate feedback and directly assists team to maintain level of productivity and deliver daily results
  • Supports change initiatives and company decisions in an effective manner
  • Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking, promotes flexibility, and drives innovation
  • Immediately informs management of employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner
  • Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions

Essential Duties

  • Work with the Director of Corporate Communications, in managing our social media strategy across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn platforms
  • Curate and create engaging content that tells the story of our brand, wines, vineyards, and team, ensuring a cohesive brand image
  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing team and PR teams to integrate social media campaigns with company-wide strategies
  • Monitor competitor activity on social media and derive insights for our corporate strategy
  • Attend wine industry events, webinars, or workshops to ensure we are always ahead in terms of market trends.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and various departments to ensure the alignment of internal messaging and external communications
  • Facilitate and support internal communications events, like all employee meetings, virtual sales meetings, or team briefings. May take photographs and videos as needed to support content
  • Will actively champion and support company initiatives and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing employee services.
  • Monitors media alerts; sends news alerts to key stakeholders on a daily basis or as needed and compiles results for quarterly reporting
  • Manages the department subscriptions and memberships.
  • Assists in developing relationships for DFW with key trade media; manages media lists, with an emphasis on trade, mainstream, and business media
  • Assists in ensuring all communications and messaging originating in the department are consistent, accurate and grammatically correct across all channels
  • Stays current on new and emerging technologies and trends, such as virtual event platforms, social media trends and channels, online outlets, bloggers, etc. and makes strategic recommendations to utilize for future efforts

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Liberal Arts field, or, a trade degree with a focus on marketing, communications, journalism, or a comparable discipline
  • 2+ years of related experience in communications, marketing, or social media is preferred.
  • Public relations or wine industry experience preferred.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project management, planning and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools, specifically Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Adept at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Some wine knowledge preferred

Working Conditions

  • General office environment with occasional travel
  • Required to drive automotive vehicle or equipment
  • Occasionally may be required to lift and carry cases of wine

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $63,105.12 to $98,595.12.
