The Social Media Director will carry out the vision of the Life Center ministry through collaborating with the Communications Team, Campus Leadership, and others to design and manage communication and marketing through our various social media platforms.

This role is responsible for creating a strategic plan that provides a pathway to implement effective branding and communication both externally and internally.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role has a supervisory component, including development of the social media ministry team and the recruitment and oversight of this ministry team’s volunteers as it relates to brand standards and content creation

Responsibilities

  • Sets out strategic plan, goals and objectives, and action items for comprehensive Life Center social media strategy.
  • Effectively oversees people, projects, systems, and resources, helping teams reach predetermined goals.
  • Recruits, trains, leads, develops, and nurtures a team of Social Media volunteers to actively engage congregants on Sundays and connect them to Life Center.
  • Designs and crafts graphics and caption content for social media posts.
  • As a vital part of the Communications Team, the Social Media Director partners with the Communications Director to lead their Social Media volunteer team to maximize technology usage, to effectively use website and other platforms, and to encourage branding to make Life Center an easy place to navigate and connect.
  • Captures content creatively through photography and videography.
  • Oversees social media posting and engagement for all church campuses to ensure success.
  • Works with the Communications Director, pastoral staff, ministry directors, project managers, and support staff as needed to establish and achieve departmental goals in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Tracks analytics for social media and creates reports to ensure effectiveness over time.
  • Contributes to proposed departmental budget.
  • Contributes to meetings unique to the role, serves on committee or projects.
  • Responsible for the daily management or administration of a group of people and / or systems, including compliance of department policies and procedures for direct reports and volunteers including communication with other ministries/departments.

Education/Certifications/Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree, current enrollment in related program of study, or equivalent experience in a ministry setting.
  • Three years’ experience or more in a church or related setting a plus.
  • Social Media and Graphic Design experience is required.
  • Photography and/or Videography experience is a plus.
