The Communications and Social Media Specialist will play a crucial role in shaping the communications strategy for the LeBow College of Business and the Goodwin College of Professional Studies.

This role aims to raise awareness of the brand, innovative programs and events, faculty, staff, and student achievements, thought leadership and research, as well as external partnerships.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Communications on the Marketing and Communications team, the Communications and Social Media Specialist will be a vital part of the content team for LeBow and Goodwin, focusing on creating compelling, brand-aligned digital content with a specialization in social media strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with academic, administrative, communications, marketing, and creative teams to create and distribute engaging content across various communication channels.
  • Oversee the suite of social media accounts for the LeBow College of Business and Goodwin College of Professional Studies, focusing on strategy, content development, and engagement.
  • Capture high-quality visual content (photos, videos) to showcase University events, student highlights, academic programs, and industry partnerships.
  • Maintain a comprehensive social media content calendar to track important dates, content requests, and balance across departments.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team on paid social media tactics and develop organic social content in line with brand and marketing strategy.
  • Provide strategic communications and social media guidance to internal and external stakeholders to expand LeBow and Goodwin’s reach.
  • Develop and manage social media guidelines, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance with University protocols.
  • Stay informed about social media trends and best practices and contribute to the development of social media strategy.
  • Monitor social media metrics and provide monthly reports to maximize reach and engagement.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Communications, journalism, digital marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in PR/strategic communications and/or social media management.
  • Experience using social media management/monitoring tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite).
  • Strong writing and editing skills following AP style.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Photography and video production skills.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with digital platforms and applications.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

  • Higher education experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of social media platforms and strategies.
  • Experience managing online communities.
  • Familiarity with work processes between functional units, including marketing and creative services.

Location: University City – Philadelphia, PA

Salary Range: This position is classified as Exempt with a grade of J, $47,490 – $71,230. The offered salary is dependent upon internal equity and the successful candidate’s competencies, education, and experience.
