We are searching for an exceptional and highly skilled Social Media & PPC Search Specialist to support and grow our social media and paid search channels in Canada and the U.S.

We’re looking for a candidate that is a creative content producer, data-savvy, and experienced in executing comprehensive social media and search PPC campaigns.

This opportunity requires in-depth knowledge of paid social and paid search advertising tactics as well as the ability to coordinate, research, and produce impactful organic and paid content for deployment across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, Threads, LinkedIn, and Google Ads).

Beyond a talent for marketing, the successful candidate will exude passion and a drive for excellence in all they do, including becoming a great storyteller of both our exciting brands, Rubicon Publishing and Savvas Learning Company, in the K-12 education sector. An important part of this role will be working closely with internal teams to help create and offer recommendations for social media content.

Here Is What You Will Get To Do

  • Develop and Execute Social Media and Paid Search Campaigns primarily focused on the Canadian market
    • Support and lead in the development of social media and search campaigns across functional teams that deliver stated business goals (i.e., research, manage, produce, post, and continually optimize campaigns)
    • Initiate creative ideas/solutions to actively engage and support the growth of our online communities/social networks, nurturing conversational engagement across multiple social networking platforms to promote corporate messaging and increase brand awareness
    • Use design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Canva, etc. to build highly engaging, shareable content
  • Social Media Content Creation:
    • Create from-scratch, highly clickable, and shareable content marketing deliverables to drive follower engagement and lead generation objectives
    • Identify, curate, and recommend relevant 3rd party content that is actively being discussed online and/or is relevant to education audiences
    • Cultivate consistent, ongoing relationships with key influencers within the education space. Identify partnership, collaboration, and other co-marketing opportunities in social media that extend our reach and credibility
  • Social & Search PPC Analysis, Monitoring, and Reporting
    • Develop strategies to optimize the effectiveness and efficiencies of campaigns
    • Regularly report insights gained from social media & search tools, such as HootSuite & Google Ads
    • Utilize social listening software, such as Brandwatch, to monitor customer service inquiries and other issues and work to develop responses in coordination with internal stakeholders (e.g. PR team, Management)
    • Track and report on PPC spend
    • Use analytics to guide social media and digital marketing strategy, understanding KPIs for different campaigns to drive better results

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • A Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication or a related field – is required. A certificate or certification in Social Media or Search Engine Marketing is a plus.
  • 3-4 years of professional experience with social & search platforms (e.g. Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Google Ads, Bing Ads) with proven results on impacting Key Performance Indicators of an organization.
  • Knowledge of social media management, advertising, and productivity/analytics tools such as Hootsuite, Sprinklr, Social Studio, Google Ads, Meta (Facebook, Instagram Insights), X Analytics, etc.
  • Ability to use social media design tools such as Photoshop, Canva, Premier Pro, etc.
  • Experience with data reporting and connector tools such as Excel, Supermetrics, and Google Data Studio
  • Experience with social listening tools such as Brandwatch
  • Experience with creating customer-facing copy in different versions of English (US, Canadian, UK) or for different countries
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Combination of organizational skills and a strategic understanding of the impact social media can have to build an effective social media editorial calendar.
  • Strong passion for storytelling, business strategy, and education sector issues
  • A track record that includes social media management for Canadian clients or with a focus in the Canadian market is strongly preferred.
  • Experience preferred at a marketing company or full-service advertising agency preferred.
  • Experience as an educator is preferred or experience with an edtech or education-focused company (non-profit, teaching, etc.), professional writing and/or copy editing
