The communications specialist will execute communications strategies specific to social media that promote the goals and mission of both TUSM and TUSDM.

They will develop high-quality content, including photos, videos, graphics, and captions for social media posts across several channels and accounts, amplifying a captivating voice that will engage digital audiences and inspire interaction on those platforms and conversion visits to the schools’ websites.

They will create and execute social media campaigns that include unique design elements that uplift the brands and expand the audiences of each school and will be responsible for tracking and presenting data specific to each school and channel.

They will stay on top of trends, news, and events, ensuring that the TUSM and TUSDM social channels are not only relevant to current conversations, but employ a unique voice that cultivates brand loyalty and welcomes social media engagements.

The communications specialist will regularly lead school-wide learning opportunities for faculty and staff, empowering internal stakeholders to use social media effectively and with an eye for brand ambassadorship. This role requires an outgoing personality and indefatigable interest in storytelling.

The ideal candidate will describe social media as an outlet for journalism, activism, community-building, and connection. They will innovate within the bounds of best practice and take pride in curating meaningful relationships.

What We’re Looking For Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 3-5 years of work experience in a professional environment
  • Experience managing professional social media accounts
  • Experience managing digital analytics and reporting software
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong photography and design skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work enthusiastically and professionally with students, faculty, and staff
  • Candidate must have an above-average affinity for social media and virtual marketing trends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher education and health sciences experience a plus
  • Journalism experience a plus

Pay Range

Minimum $57,900.00, Midpoint $72,450.00, Maximum $87,000.00
