The Science Education Social Media Specialist is responsible for cultivating and creating impactful communications across our digital channels utilizing a data-driven approach to content that aligns with the overarching education brands narrative and business goals.

This individual will help create, develop and implement strategies that will promote all science education content, including managing the Science By You program which solicits teachers to create/share their own content in various forms with Ward’s for our use in marketing efforts.

Major Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Builds company brand in the external marketplace by assisting in creating and sharing content for the Science Education organization
  • Manages day-to-day strategic content planning and coordination, which includes proactively mining and creating content that engages and inspires followers and that aligns with the Science Education function/strategy
  • Monitors organic social media accounts daily to ensure a positive audience experience and responds/interacts with followers as needed
  • Manages the process by which all Science By You program content is shared and reviewed. Communicates with teachers submitting content to revise/edit any submitted content to ensure it aligns with the brand and strategic objectives
  • Coordinates directly or indirectly with communications agencies to ensure execution and optimal spend of our social media budget
  • Works with marketing management to help oversee/monitor all paid corporate social media investment to ensure optimal use of dollars for maximum ROI
  • Implements best practices and evolves social media strategy, develops metrics to track the effectiveness of these efforts, and measures overall performance
  • Supports training of the broader marketing team to increase understanding and engagement with social tools
  • Stays current on latest and most innovative social media management tools, technologies and resources
  • Engages with multiple stakeholders across the organization
  • Establishes and implements onboarding process for social agencies
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience And Certifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field.
  • 3-5 years in social and digital marketing
  • Highly competent using the latest social media tools and technologies with an understanding of a data-driven approach to content
  • Comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment of multiple teams and agencies and is a natural collaborator who can lead with influence
  • Proven communications and project management skills
  • Experience working with healthcare or biotech businesses/products or a large manufacturing company is preferred
  • Experience using technology tools for measurement and reporting

  • Proven ability to manage events, employee meetings, leadership meetings, and other internal forums.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $57,300.00 – $95,400.00
