We are looking for a Social Lead to join UnitedMasters! Please note that this role is a Hybrid role: three days in office and two days remote.

What You’ll Do

Part creative, part strategist and part doer, you will lead storytelling, publishing and community management across UnitedMasters’ social media channels.

You’ll be responsible for strategies and tactics to enhance our brand’s digital content, resulting in enhanced visibility, deeper audience engagement and growth.

You’ll have a strong point of view on how UnitedMasters should show up for independent artists and build community.

To be successful in this role, the Social Lead must be both collaborative and autonomous while being confident working in a fast-paced, scrappy start-up environment.

You will:

  • With direction from the Brand Marketing lead, define a strategy to grow our social communities across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram Stories, Spotify and more
  • Set goals, track, analyze and report on social media performance, using data to make recommendations for improvement and growth
  • Partner with Brand Marketing lead to plan and execute original content and campaigns that amplify UnitedMasters overall marketing strategy and drive business impact
  • Create platform-specific execution strategies and oversee content development, publication and community management across UnitedMasters’ social media platforms
  • Create, maintain, socialize and execute social media calendars with guidance from Brand Marketing & input from Sales/Client Services teams to appropriately integrate sponsored content
  • Champion brand strategy, aesthetic, voice and standards across all touchpoints and content execution
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the always-evolving social and cultural landscape: including competitive considerations, content trends, features and platform innovations to consistently drive and recommend the right content and platform mix for UnitedMasters
  • Search social media channels, feeds, and news outlets to curate content; comment on relevant posts and accounts to increase reach, visibility, and engagement of UnitedMasters’ channels
  • Guide community management best practices and establish a process for generating and amplifying testimonials and transformational stories from our artist community
  • Manage the UnitedMasters social communities by responding to comments and direct messages, and by finding interesting ways to engage and monitor fan communities to create positive sentiment and increase the number of engaged/active users.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

You’re a player-coach who loves music and is passionate about helping independent artists grow. You have deep experience managing social media channels, developing content and building community. You’ll have:

  • Ability to balance long-term strategy development with strong day-to-day execution
  • Customer-obsessed—you understand independent artists and how to speak to them at every touchpoint
  • Know how to make impactful micro-content tailored to specific audiences and platforms
  • Creative thinker who can develop engaging concepts for social media content; you keep a finger on the pulse of the social landscape and translate what you see into innovative strategies
  • Appreciate data and have a keen ability to analyze and translate results into action
  • Understand basic digital marketing hacks, tricks and trends
  • In-depth understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices for each platform, with advanced knowledge of Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, Youtube and Threads
  • Proficient in Adobe Cloud Suite including Photoshop, Premiere, AfterEffects, and InDesign as well as social native tools such as CapCut.
  • Proficient in using social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights).
  • Ability to edit both photo and video content to meet a specific brand aesthetic
  • Skilled in using a DSLR for both photography and video content capture and the ability to film and strategize creative in fast-paced environments
  • Creative, self-starter with exceptional follow-up skills
  • Capable of interfacing effectively with internal teams, external partners, as well as artists

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years relevant work experience as a Social Media Editor, Social Media Manager, or similar role
  • Experience producing storytelling content to boost brand recognition
  • Experience executing creative and managing social channels within the media landscape of music, entertainment, or sports as well as a finger-on-the-pulse knowledge of culture and social media trends
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to adapt content for different social media formats

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Passionate about music and improving outcomes for independent artists
  • Maintains relationships with key individuals and thought leaders across digital and music platforms

Salary Hiring Range: $90,000 – $125,000
