The Social Media & Multimedia Specialist will work within the Advertising and Public Affairs section of the Richmond Recruiting Battalion.

This role is responsible for creating modern and engaging content to support the battalion’s engagement strategy for reaching both internal and external audiences as part of the recruiting mission for the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop modern and engaging multimedia content to promote public awareness of the organization and support the recruiting mission, using virtual communication tools.
  • Utilize various social media platforms and management tools to convey information and publicize the organization’s mission.
  • Monitor and analyze Army recruiting social media pages, providing feedback and advice to page managers based on content effectiveness.
  • Write articles and social media posts to convey information about the Agency’s operations, programs, and activities.
  • Produce high-quality stories, photos, graphics, and videos to educate the audience about Army opportunities and benefits.
  • Collaborate with various teams to execute content creation and campaigns.
  • Analyze social media data and trends to improve campaigns and strategies.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Experience in providing marketing and branding products for an organization’s social media presence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator and InDesign) applications for marketing product production.
  • Technical experience in photography and video production, including digital editing and video compression.
  • Use of social media tools and software (e.g., Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights) for social media presence analysis.
  • Advertising through multiple social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, WeChat, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn).
  • Experience creating and posting articles, graphic design, photos, and videos for promotion.

Education:

  • A master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree in fields like social media, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or Marketing.
  • 24 Semester Hours of relevant courses in areas such as Social Media Data Analytics, Digital Content Strategy, Digital Marketing, and more.

Or a combination of experience and education.

  • U.S. citizenship required.

Note: This is a CP22 Career Field position in PUBLIC AFFAIRS & COMMUNICATIONS MEDIA. The position may also consider military spouse preference and eligibility for the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) if applicable. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement.
